Our Story

Hi! It's Ellie here with Twiggy, my 3-year-old Italian Greyhound.

Twiggy suffered a leg injury a couple of years ago and it became more apparent the awkwardness of putting on and taking off her jumpers and coats. Tight where I needed more room, baggy in areas where it wasn't needed. It was quite a song and dance getting ready for a walk and it didn’t feel right. 

Over the past two years, I've been creating ‘essentials’ jumpers and coats for Italian Greyhounds here in the UK to make life that little bit easier in the cooler and wetter months, using high-quality and functional materials sourced locally that last for yonks, and designs that complement their grace and wide range of motion. We’ve tested and retested our designs, scrapping ideas and starting over many times to make sure they fulfil what we set out to do. We’re starting with a small collection, handmaking each garment to order, but we have ideas in the works which we can’t wait to show you.

I’ll always say I'm happiest when Twiggy is nakedly running free, but where she often needs a layer when I'm out and about, we at The Hound Edit believe wearing clothes should be as comfortable an experience as possible, whilst looking cool (and often, like Steve Jobs). If it’s good enough for Twiggy, it’s good enough for us and we hope for your little ones too.
