The Italian Greyhound Edit x London Fashion Week 2025
So, London Fashion Week is about to take over the capital and it's naturally had us reflecting on the fashion-forward ideas that everyone is raving about for 2025 - ideas that can be translated into the practical clothing we make for Italian Greyhounds. This year, it's all about bold colours, timeless minimalist staples, and sustainability.
If you're new to us, at The Hound Edit we make clothing for Italian Greyhounds that prioritises your dog's wellbeing through conscious design and functional, high-quality fabrics - without costing the planet. Whilst we might be inspired by trends, our clothing is designed to last many seasons looking timelessly elegant.
So, let's get into it.
Minimalist quiet luxury
Clean lines, pared-back silhouettes, and functional elegance are here to stay. Minimalist design has a timelessness that works through every season for the everyday. Both for humans and dogs.
It’s a reminder that functionality and elegance go hand in hand - an idea that resonates when designing for life on the move (or on the go with our dogs). Thinking about the slender, streamlined elegance of our Italian Greyhounds, minimalist design is such a perfect match. It not only complements their graceful silhouettes but also ensures they can comfortably go about their day without restriction. As Who What Wear perfectly put it, it's one of the few movements that hasn’t gone out of fashion for generations - and what could feel more aligned with a breed that’s been by our side for centuries. This style also makes it incredibly easy to unapologetically match outfits with your greyhound. To be honest, we think it's quite the look.
Sustainability is top of the agenda
With designers embracing innovative materials from organic fabrics to recycled yarns, the fashion industry is under increasing pressure to step up its game to reduce its impact on the environment and to meet the growing interest in conscious clothing.
In recent musings on Instagram, we talked about how the properties of sustainable fabrics go hand in hand with clothing for dogs in so many ways, especially our thin-furred greyhounds. For example, many of our greyhounds find clothing can be pretty irritating on the skin, and the breathability of a fabric is known to be a contributing factor.
The wonderful thing is that technical fabrics made from natural fibers can not only bring warmth, but also help reduce irritation with their breathability by drawing moisture away from the skin. Even better, sustainable approaches to creating these fabrics often enhance their performance, making them even more beneficial for our hounds.
With this in mind, we carefully selected an organic cotton for The Jean-Pierre and The Steve jumpers. Cotton, being a natural fiber, is naturally breathable, unlike many purely synthetic fabrics. And as it’s organic, the breathability is greater, with no added chemicals that could also contribute to irritation.
In a nutshell, we love how it's not only is better for the planet, but also better for our hounds. A win-win.

Bold Colours
Toward the end of last year, Vogue predicted for SS25 we'd be seeing a lot of buttery yellow, with further citrusy hues of orange hinted at by Who What Wear. Softer tones, like pastel pinks, are also expected to make an appearance, according to Vogue.
We’ve been thinking a lot about bold colours recently. While we love the understated elegance of our signature black jumpers, bold shades paired with tailored designs create not only a stylish statement but also a practical advantage for us owners - spotting our greyhounds from a distance on off-lead walks.
So, at the end of 2024, we started researching new colours to bring to our jumper collection and many of you got involved in picking your favourites through our Instagram polls. As I write this, we’re sampling your top picks - including a clementine orange and butter yellow, using Oeko-Tex certified fabrics. And, of course, The Rae raincoat in its sunny yellow hue has already made its mark as a bright, practical staple on those rainier days that we're too familiar with at this time of year.
